Micro Arc Service Repairs Worn And Broken Hooks, Loopers

Repaired Sewing Machine Parts Guaranteed To Be As Good As New

WORCESTER, Mass., September 11, 2000 – Micro Arc Welding Service Co. announced today that it will feature the industry’s only service for repairing worn or broken hooks, loopers and other industrial sewing machine parts at Booth # 1679 at The IFAI Expo 2000, which will be held Thursday, Oct. 26, through Saturday, Oct. 28, 2000 at the Orange County Convention Center, Orlando, Fla.

Micro Arc developed an ultra-precise microscopic welding technique called micro-dimensional welding that is used to repair parts to exact specifications, within ultra-precise tolerances.  Parts are typically repaired within 24 hours, and are guaranteed to perform as good as new and last as long as original parts, President Scott Malkasian said.

“Each year, companies in the textiles, marine, automotive, signage and other industries spend millions of dollars replacing worn or broken sewing machine parts that they could repair for a fraction of the price,” according to Malkasian.  “We have the metallurgical background and knowledge to choose the best alloy for any job, and typically provide customers with repaired parts that are stronger and more wear-resistant than when they were new.”

He estimates that micro-dimensional welding typically saves the customer 50% to 70% on parts repair.  It can be used:

·        To retip hooks and loopers to original or custom specifications.

·        To repair all parts, including feed dogs, presser feet, throat plates and needle plates.

·        To recondition parts that are no longer available.

·        To customize parts to individual needs.

“Thousands of customers around the world are using our repair service,” Malkasian said.  “Our new customers almost always express surprise at the effectiveness of our repairs.  They’ve told us that they prefer our retipped hooks to new ones; that they can’t tell the difference between repaired parts and new ones, and that our work has saved them thousands of dollars on each order.  We take pride in being able to offer our customers dependable results, while also reducing their down time.”
